Privacy policy — NPv.ProxySwitcher

Purpose and local processing
NPv.ProxySwitcher routes browser requests for domains you specify through proxy servers you configure. While its routing is active, unmatched domains connect directly. Disabling releases its proxy setting to Chrome's underlying configuration.
The extension stores profile names, proxy protocols/hosts/ports, domain rules, enabled state, indicator preference, language and theme preferences, and the latest configuration error locally in chrome.storage.local. Language and theme are shared by Settings, the Privacy Policy page and the popup. All configuration is stored locally in this browser. No configuration is transferred through Google services or between devices. Proxy settings, routing rules and preferences are not sent to the developer. No account is required.
Chrome evaluates a locally generated proxy auto-configuration script to select a route based on the request hostname. The extension does not intercept request or response bodies, read page content, or record a browsing history.
Optional page indicator
If you enable the page indicator, Chrome requests scripting permission and access to the sites in your rules. The extension temporarily uses available tab addresses to decide whether to show “Via proxy” on a page. It displays the selected profile name as plain text, but not the proxy address, port or page URL. The profile name is intentionally displayed on the page when this optional feature is enabled. Tab addresses are not stored, logged, sent to the developer, sold or shared for advertising. The indicator is off by default; routing works without these optional permissions.
The indicator reports the configured route for the page's main hostname, not verified connection health. Other domains requested by that page follow their own rules.
Data sent to other parties
The extension has no developer backend, analytics, telemetry, advertising network or promotional links. It does not transmit settings or browsing records to the developer. The developer does not sell or use extension data for advertising, creditworthiness or lending.
Connections you choose to proxy are handled by your chosen proxy server. That operator and the destination website can receive connection information and traffic according to the connection protocol and their own practices. NPv.ProxySwitcher is a tool for configuring browser routing, not a proxy provider. You choose and configure the servers yourself. The developer does not provide, operate, endorse or verify those servers and makes no guarantee about their availability, security or data-handling practices. Use only proxy operators you trust and review their privacy and security policies. HTTP/SOCKS proxy transport is not inherently encrypted; using HTTPS websites protects their content in transit subject to the normal limits of HTTPS. This extension is not a VPN, anonymity guarantee or network kill switch.
Chrome and Chrome Web Store may independently process account, installation, update or store information under Google's policies; the extension itself sends no telemetry.
Retention and control
Settings remain on the device until changed or the extension is uninstalled. You can edit/delete rules and unused profiles in Settings, disable the indicator, or revoke its site access in Chrome. Turning the indicator off removes it from supported open pages but does not automatically revoke permissions. Uninstalling removes the extension's local settings. Addresses examined for routing/indicators are not retained as a history.
Limited Use
NPv.ProxySwitcher's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed by the extension is used only to provide its user-facing proxy routing and optional route indicator. The developer does not receive that data.
